I nervously started C25K in June 2020 , the last time I'd ran was in egg an spoon race at school and that was quite a few years ago .
When I started C25K my fitness level was 0, I got to the point where i found myself out of breath while walking a gentle incline. Thinking of running for 1 minute made me feel sick , i was in a position where i could never have contemplated a 30 minute run.
I looked at how fast the progress was meant to be and thought"thats impossible" i knew how unfit i was and a 30 minute run was definitely not 9 weeks away for me , but i went to group runs 3 times a week , listened to all the advise given by group leaders , I pushed through the pain and week 9 came quicker than I thought.I might not have done the 5K in 30 minutes but I did it , I did it in 42 minutes I did it in my own time , I completed it .The motivation you get from the group and the prompts and advice from Barbara , Matt ,Stephen , Harry and not forgetting Michael were amazing , when they say " no one gets left behind" they are true to there word , I should know as I was behind most times .
I am now running 3 times a week and cant wait to put on my running gear and get out there.
Thank you so much Rawmarsh Runners .
